Now, 4-star center Malachi Moreno is looking to become the next Kentucky kid who goes on to make a major impact at the college level, and the Cats are firmly in the mix for his services.
On Monday, Moreno announced his top eight (via Joe Tipton), and to no surprise, UK made the cut.
Also included were North Carolina, Arkansas, Louisville, Notre Dame, Iowa
Kentucky continues to show Malachi Moreno that he is a top priority in the Class of 2025Year number one of the Mark Pope era is just around the corner in Lexington as a brand new roster is set to make its debut later this year.
One of the challenges Pope has faced is not only building a roster for instant success but also building for the future of the program as well.
Now that the roster for the upcoming season is complete, Pope and his staff have been working non-stop throughout the summer recruiting for the next few classes.
Kentucky has made it clear that one of the most important pieces to the program’s future is in-state star Malachi Moreno.
His recruitment battle is currently between the Wildcats and Indiana, but On3’s Joe Tipton believes Kentucky has the edge.
“Right now, I would give the edge to the Kentucky Wildcats, the local program. They have done a great job making it known that he is their guy,” Tipton stated on KSR’s Here Comes the Boom.
