Breaking news; Steve Sarkisian award No.1 football’s coach, manning named SEC co-freshman of the week……
Quinn Ewers is not being completely ruled out for the University of Texas’ game Saturday night against Louisiana-Monroe.
During his normal Monday morning press conference, head coach Steve Sarkisian labeled Ewers as “questionable” when the top-ranked Longhorns host ULM at DKR-Memorial Stadium (7 p.m., ESPN Plus/SEC Plus).
In calling Ewers questionable, Sarkisian cited that is what he would use for the new SEC availability report, which will begin next week at Texas, ahead of its SEC opener against Mississippi State.
If Ewers cannot play, Arch Manning will get his first career start against the Warhawks.
“We’re going to monitor him day-to-day, and see what this looks like, but he’s going to be questionable,” Sarkisian said.
On first-and-10 from the UTSA 20-yard line early in the second quarter of Texas’ 56-7 win, Ewers handed off to Quintrevion Wisner, walked away from the play limping, went down, and called for the trainer.
