Former UK star Oscar Tshiebwe signs deal with Utah Jazz
The former Wildcat averaged 14.5 points and a massive 12.3 rebounds per game in 107 total games played in the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons.
After his time at Kentucky, Tshiebwe played for the NBA G League’s Indiana Mad Ants, appearing in 23 regular season games and averaging 16.2 points and 16 rebounds a game.
That earned him Kia NBA G League Rookie of the Year and a spot on the All-NBA G League First Team.
At Kentucky, Tshiebwe was the unanimous National Player of the Year and SEC Player of the Year in 2021-22. He lead the nation in rebounding with 15.2 boards per game and ranked second with 28 double-doubles.
Typically, a two-way contract allows a player to play for both an NBA team and its G League affiliate.
The idea is to let the player to spend time in the G League developing while also being available for the the NBA parent team to call them up as needed for a set amount of games per season.
Per the Utah Jazz’s team policy, terms of their two-way deal with Tshiebwe were not released.
