Breaking news:Huskies mislead as Will Rogers announce his resignation for..

It’s another week of Washington Huskies football for Jedd Fisch and his newly-assembled team and that means there’s another opportunity for this group to continue to grow and develop together as a continuously-improving cohesive unit.

That’s a lot to ask for a team that is essentially brand new from the ground up, but that’s just the nature of college football these days. Shoutout to the transfer portal, NIL, and the ever changing landscape that this sport is in right now.

Last week, Washington Husky fans were treated to a pretty solid performance from their new starting quarterback, Will Rogers. While Rogers isn’t Michael Penix Jr. and he’s not going to operate the same sort of offense that Kalen DeBoer was running a season ago, that doesn’t mean Rogers and the Huskies can’t be exciting on offense.

Last week, the Huskies got a decent taste of what Rogers, traditionally an Air Raid quarterback who thrived in Mike Leach’s system, will bring to the table. He’s accurate, relatively efficient, mobile enough, and generally avoids making mistakes.

Rogers’ arm strength isn’t going to wow anyone, but he does seem to have a decent grasp on this new offense that he’s running and that’s a good sign. This week, he’s got an opportunity to continue to grow and continue to build confidence right alongside the rest of his new teammates.

Washington Huskies quarterback Will Rogers has chance to continue improving as Huskies host Eastern Michigan

This isn’t going to be a tough contest, all things considered. It’s far from being the most difficult game on the 2024 Washington Huskies schedule. Facing off against Eastern Michigan will allow for Rogers to continue showcasing why DeBoer was interested in bringing him to Seattle via the transfer portal.

Last weekend, against Weber State, Rogers was efficient in picking the Weber State Wildcats apart as he completed 20 of his 26 pass attempts for 250 yards and a touchdown.
