Breaking news:John Calipari work his magic to steal Caleb Wilson from Kentucky..
John Calipari will have to work his magic to steal Caleb Wilson from Kentucky with reports the Cats are doubling his seven-figure NIL package from what Arkansas is willing to offer.
It’s been rumored and in the works for a long time, but highly-touted power forward Caleb Wilson is headed to Fayetteville for an official visit. He’ll arrive in town Saturday for the Ole Miss game, the day after the Hogs take on TCU in an exhibition game down in Fort Worth.
Needless to say, he’s a hot commodity right now. Look no further than his Instagram page, which shows off visits to Kentucky, Ohio State, Tennessee, North Carolina, Auburn and more.
There has been a ton of smoke around Caleb Wilson and Kentucky in recent weeks, with almost all the momentum swinging towards Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope and the Wildcats.
The Kentucky basketball smoke in the last week or so has come from swirling rumors about one of the largest freshman NIL deals this year, a seven-figure NIL offer, with HSTopRecruits reporting the two sides are “working out the fine print” on the financial side of things.
HSTopRecruits says in order for Kentucky to get Wilson they are “effectively doubling” Wilson’s NIL package to stave off competition from Arkansas.
Calipari also will have to deal with Rich Paul and Klutch. Wilson is a clutch client and Paul wants a coach to guarantee playing time and Calipari is one coach that won’t do that. Paul has said he doesn’t want another Chris Livingston situation. He wants guaranteed minutes and playing time from coach and from what is being said Pope will accommodate Paul and his clients wishes.
