Spurs boss will not be impressed with comments about Josh Onomah

Mauricio Pochettino likes to protect his players when they make mistakes – particularly the young ones.

Kyle Walker Peters and Juan Foyth are cases in point.

Foyth struggled in the win over Wolves, conceding two penalties after Spurs led 3-0 and had to hang on for a 3-2 win.

Walker-Peters gave the ball away in the Camp Nou as Ousmane Dembele ran away to score the opener.

On both occasions, stood up for his players, giving them the confidence to carry on and get through their tough times.

The Owls are 18th, just five points above the relegation zone and they suffered their 10th defeat of the season away at Swansea City on Saturday, losing 2-1 after being a goal up.

Luhukay told the Star : “He was not good enough. He brought nothing on the ball.

“He lost three, four, five balls right at the beginning [of the game]. That is the reason why he came off and we changed it.

“Honestly, he had no influence on the game.”
