Bundesliga: Neuer Coach Farke startet mit Demut in Gladbach-Mission | ZEIT ONLINE

Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport claim on-loan Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen could miss out on a place in Roma’s Europa League squad – after enduring a difficult start under Jose Mourinho.

Kristensen, 26, decided to leave Leeds to join Roma in the summer – one of eight players to leave the club on loan. Another, in Diego Llorente, is currently with Kristensen at Roma – but has started well.

Denmark star Kristensen started Roma’s first game of the season against Salernitana. He lasted 65 minutes, before being replaced. His second outing, he was hooked at half-time – a 2-1 loss to Verona.

Then, on the weekend, Club suffered a second successive loss to Milan – and Kristensen lost his place in the starting XI. He remained an unused substitute. Now, it could go from bad to worse for Kristensen.

That is because CDS say Kristensen could now be excluded from Roma’s Europa League squad – with the group stages taking place the first week after the international break. The report explains why.

While seven players have gone – including Gini Wijnaldum, Nemanja Matic and Nicolo Zaniolo – and seven have come in – like £10m Kristensen – it is not as simple as seven in, seven out. FFP comes into it.

The value of the players that have gone out and those that have come in. Roma feel they can only bring in five of their seven new signings. Roma already have two right-backs in Zeki Celik and Rick Karsdorp.

That means then, Kristensen could be left out of the Roma side – as could fellow new signing Serdar Azmoun. A real blow for the Dane, who will have looked at the Europa League as a reason for joining.
