Oldham will send out a patched up side to face improving Luton at Boundary Park on Saturday.

Boss Iain Dowie has to juggle with an injury, illness and suspension crisis.

He said: “We will just have to get on with it and cope the best we can.”

Key defenders Clint Hill and Julien Baudet are both suspended. Hill completes a three-match ban and Frenchman Baudet sits out one game.

David Beharall is also out after a hospital scan revealed his calf problem is a slight tear and he joins three other injuy victims.

Influential midfield man Lee Duxbury has been hit by a virus which has prevented him from training and is a major doubt.

Former Manchester United defender Michael Clegg looks set to get a call along with 20-year-old Scot Will Haining and veteran John Sheridan.

On the plus side side, striker John Eyre has recovered from illness and full backs Chris Armstrong and Dean Holden came through their first starts of the season last Saturday at Port Vale. The Latics drew that game – the first time they had failed to win in nine games.

But Dowie insisted: “We can put another run together, the important thing was that we weren’t beaten.”

Joe Kinnear’s Luton have recovered from a poor start to climb up the table with four wins in a row. The Hatters gave Dowie his first start in the game and he added: “I will always be grateful to them for that but for 90 minutes on Saturday I will be doing my best to stop them leaving with any points.

“Joe is a very experienced manager and he has got them fired up at the moment. It will be a tough one, but Luton are a passing side and that will suit us.”
