I'm Looking Forward To - Leeds United Boss Daniel Farke Makes Transfers Admission

Rasmus Kristensen has endured a difficult time out on loan at AS Roma

There were few concerns from Leeds United supporters when Rasmus Kristensen departed the club on loan in the summer. Signed from Red Bull Salzburg a year earlier, the Denmark international never hit the heights that was expected of him at Elland Road and for all the players who left in recent months on loan deals, Kristensen is unlikely to top any ‘most missed’ list.

Leeds will certainly hope that’s the case having brought in Djed Spence to fill the right-back berth alongside Luke Ayling. While Leeds don’t appear to be missing Kristensen, his current club AS Roma don’t look like they will miss him too with the plater set to be omitted from their Europa League 25-man squad.

A part of Kristensen’s expected absence is to do with FFP, and he’ll still be involved in the Serie A squad, but how much he will actually play is now being brought into question. The 26-year-old Dane has been brought off in his two Serie A starts so far this season and didn’t get off the bench in the last game as Jose Mourinho’s men struggle to find their feet this season in the Italian top division.

Kristensen’s form has now been criticised by members of the Italian press. Former Italian footballer Roberto Pruzzo, speaking to Radio Radio Mattino 104.5, believes that the defender just hasn’t been good enough. He said;  I wasn’t surprised to not see him on the list. His performances are below all expectations. It seems like an appropriate choice to me. Let’s hope these players can recover to help out. Roma can only have a reaction on the pitch, we have to wait.”

Despite some speculation regarding a possible return to Leeds in the wake of being cut from Roma’s European squad, Kristensen is not able to come back and looks set for a tough season in Italy unless he can turn things around in the eyes of Mourinho.
