Everton respond to FFP allegation as Nottingham Forest fans pile in - Nottinghamshire Live

Everton made a £40.7 million offer for Doucoure last summer, but Watford turned it down. Now that the Hornets have been demoted to the Championship, they are reportedly willing to let him depart for £35 million.

Everton would probably try to clinch a deal for the 27-year-old for less money due to factors like Watford’s relegation and the financial impact of the coronavirus.

Despite having three years left on the contract he signed in 2018, Doucoure wants to leave Vicarage Road, thus Watford is not under any pressure to sell the Frenchman this summer.

Everton, who have yet to make any major signings in Carlo Ancelotti’s first summer in charge, also remain interested in Napoli midfielder Allan.

Prior to being fired by the Serie A club just before Allan joined Everton in December, Ancelotti coached Allan at Napoli.
