Sources: Leeds to explore late move for West Brom star Thomas-Asante after £2m bid Leeds are exploring a late move for West Brom striker Brandon Thomas-Asante, sources have told Football Insider. West Brom rejected a £2million bid for Thomas-Asante earlier this week, but they could sell the former Salford winger for the right price. Leeds will compete with Stoke for the player’s signature before the 11am deadline on Friday (September 1) as they look to bolster their attacking options. Thomas-Asante, 24, has scored two league goals this season and also found the back of the net in the League Cup first round defeat to Stoke. The Milton Keynes-born ace is contracted to the Hawthorns until June 2025. He joined West Brom from Salford City in a £300,000 deal last year (2022). In his first season with the Baggies, Thomas-Asante scored nine goals in 35 appearances in all competitions.

Thomas-Asante mainly functions as a center forward, but can also play on the left and right wing. Leeds are looking for more eye-catching reinforcements for their immediate return to the Premier League. The Whites have already secured a big-money move for prolific Swansea striker Joel Piroe this summer and the Dutchman scored on his debut against Ipswich last week (August 26).
