Gary Rowett: Millwall manager tests positive for Covid-19 - BBC Sport

GARY Rowett was pleased with Millwall’s ability to dig deep and claim a point in a tough game at West Brom. The Lions held on to a 0-0 tie after coming under heavy fire in the second half as the sacks improved as the game wore on. But their revival only came after Zian Flemming saved a first-half penalty. West Brom continued to work the woodwork twice and Matt Phillips forced Bartosz Bialkowski into a goal-line clearance. Bartosz Bialkowski desperately tried to prevent a Brandon Thomas-Asante header that hit him in the head. I think they’re a good side, especially at home. They’ve got good players. The likes of Swift and Jed Wallace diving is a nice luxury. – I thought the first half was great. I think we kept well and moved the ball. Give them trouble and at home you expect to be pressured and have to defend a lot. I thought we looked pretty comfortable and then we got a penalty. “Obviously you expect a 1-0 lead because of the nature of the situation – I’m sure Zian will be disappointed not to score his second goal in two games but the keeper made a save and that gave them a bit of a lift. – I don’t think they necessarily caused us many problems, but I felt we struggled a bit in the second half. They changed the formation they actually had Sarmiento very tall and wide on the left and Phillips on the right and that pushed our five back. So we decided to change the formation to four, it didn’t make sense that five defenders meant three. “It helped us get a bit more stability, but it didn’t necessarily let us out and I just thought our possession and bravery in the second half wasn’t enough for us to go offensively, but sometimes you have to dig in. In SC to get a point and blank slate and I think we did it fantastically well.
