Aston Villa will return to Europa Conference League duties this week as HSK Zrinjski Mostar travel to Villa Park for the second group stage fixture of the campaign.

Unai Emery’s side were defeated 3-2 by Legia Warsaw last month and are aiming to get off the mark against Zrinjski. The Bosnian side won their first match 4-3 against AZ Alkmaar despite being 3-0 down at half time.

Villa come into the match on the back of a stunning 6-1 win over Brighton on Saturday, and Emery was asked after full-time why he took Boubacar Kamara and Moussa Diaby off late on. He said: “I think he (Diaby) has some pain, but I don’t think it’s relevant for the next games. Kamara as well, hopefully not important. We think it’s not important but we will check it.”

Diego Carlos, Bertrand Traore and Tim Iroegbunam are all fit to feature against Zrinjski, while the match is likely to come too soon for Alex Moreno and Leon Bailey. Here is a lowdown on the club’s injury list…

Emery revealed after the win at Chelsea that Moreno was going to take a couple more weeks to get up to speed before being named in the squad again.

He limped off in last week’s Carabao Cup defeat against Everton and is working his way back to fitness.

Mings suffered a long-term knee injury during the defeat at Newcastle United on the opening weekend of the season.

Buendia sustained a long-term knee injury on the eve of the new season.
