Joao Felix comments on Atletico Madrid’s football: “I adapt to Barcelona’s style better” | Barca Universal.
Barcelona will take a trip to the esteemed Estadio do Dragao in Portugal to face off against Porto in the Champions League tomorrow. They are coming off a hard-fought 1-0 win against Sevilla on the weekend, and are still undefeated across all competitions.

Ahead of this game, Joao Felix sat down for his first press conference in blaugrana colours after an impressive start for the club.

“Barcelona is a great team. Everyone knows how to play. I think I have adapted well. I am working on it,” the loanee said about his first few weeks in Catalonia, as relayed by Mundo Deportivo.

“We can see the way Barcelona plays compared to Atletico. This does not mean Atleti is bad, but I adapt better to the way Barça play.”

Porto’s coach Sergio Conceicao suggested that he could line Porto up in a five-man defence to counter Barcelona’s attacking play. Felix was asked to comment on the same.

“Playing against a five-man defence is complicated. They drop back and it is difficult to create scoring chances,” Felix said, probably speaking from experience from his time playing under Diego Simeone at Atletico Madrid.

As a graduate from Benfica’s academy, Felix will be looking to put in a stellar shift against his boyhood rival club.

“My dream is to score in every match, wherever it is. It may be special because we are playing against a Portuguese team, but for me, it is another match that we will try to win.”

“I think the worst thing was for them to lose against Benfica, because they will have a greater desire to win and give their best. And at the Dragao, the matches are always complicated but we are ready for that,” he added.

Felix was asked about which teammate surprised him the most at Barcelona since his arrival, to which he said, “So far, [Frenkie] de Jong has surprised me to most.”

He concluded by saying, “Porto is the toughest game for us in the Champions League, but we are moving step.
