Tottenham star Brennan Johnson has suffered a hamstring injury during the North London Derby clash against Arsenal. The Wales international had to be replaced by Manor Solomon in the second half after receiving treatment on the pitch.

Johnson was signed from Nottingham Forest during the summer transfer window for a fee of £47.5million. The 22-year-old looked to have pulled his hamstring as he sprinted back towards his own goal which may see him sidelined for a number of weeks depending on the severity of the issue.

Cristian Romero scored an own goal to put Arsenal ahead before Son Heung-min equalised before half-time. Bukayo Saka put the Gunners back in the lead from the penalty spot, before the South Korean forward grabbed his second of the game minutes before Johnson’s injury.

Ange Postecoglou will have been pleased with Johnson’s performance and to avoid risking further injury blows – Son and James Maddison have since been replaced with 10 minutes to play at the Emirates Stadium. The Wales international was not the only casualty this afternoon after Declan Rice had to be substituted at half-time.
