Leeds United are interested in signing Coventry City star Gustavo Hamer, it is claimed.

The 25-year-old has been an influential presence in the Sky Blues midfield since arriving at the CBS Arena in 2020. His nine goals and 10 assists played a key role in their run to the play-off final.

The report claims that the Lily Whites want Hamer to be ‘their marquee signing this summer’ as they look to strengthen their midfield. They claim that Spaniard Marco Roca will join Real Betis on loan so the club are in need of reinforcements. America captain Tyler Adams could also be sold with a host of clubs interested.

However, it is reported that the Leeds hierarchy have doubts over whether convincing Hamer to move to a fellow Championship club is realistic. They claim there is also interest from elsewhere in Europe.

The Yorkshire club will be playing in the second tier in 2023/24 after being relegated from the Premier League . Leeds had a disastrous campaign in the top flight and are still without a manager after Sam Allardyce left the club at the beginning of June.
