Luton Town have confirmed the signing of former England international Andros Townsend, who could make his debut against Nottingham Forest after the international break.

The 32-year-old winger has been a free agent since leaving Everton at the end of last season. He has agreed a short-term contract until January with the Hatters as he aims to help them achieve Premier League survival.

Townsend will now spend the international break getting to know his new surroundings. Luton are next in action when they visit the City Ground after the international break, a game in which Townsend could feature. Due to being a free agent, Luton were able to complete the signing of the winger outside of the transfer window. Townsend has been training with Luton in order to keep up his fitness, with the player impressing enough to earn a contract with the club.
