EFL approves sale of Leeds to 49ers group | Reuters

Norwich City defender Shane Duffy has rued his side’s individual mistakes after Leeds United’s stunning comeback victory made it five defeats in the Canaries last eight Championship matches.

The Republic of Ireland defender had headed his side into the lead inside the first few minutes at Carrow Road, before a touch of Brazilian brilliance from Gabriel Sara made it 2-0 before the break.

The Whites’ comeback sparked into life on the hour mark after Duffy’s second of the game, this time beyond his own goalkeeper as Dan James’ low cross cannoned in off the unfortunate centre-back. Leeds would go on to complete their fight back thanks to Crysencio Summerville’s well-taken double.

“It’s disappointing,” Duffy said post-match. “We built up a two-goal lead against a good team and have thrown it away really. We just stopped doing what we were doing in the first half. We were getting the press right, getting after them and making them make mistakes.

“Then we came out and sat off, and they made a few changes to cause us problems, [they] put four up top. Silly individual errors and decision-making is what’s disappointing, we can’t do that at this level against good teams. You’ll get punished.”
