Akeal Hosein was the star of the show with the ball as he rattled the Ugana batting order with his bowling with figures of 5 for 11 in his 4 overs. West Indies had posted 173 runs in their 20 overs after winning the toss and opting to bat first.
Uganda would end up being bundled out for 39, the joint-lowest total in the history of T20 World Cups. This was worse than the 58 they scored against Afghanistan in their first match of the campaign.
