In 64 days, Kalen DeBoer will usher in a new era of Alabama Crimson Tide football, replacing the legendary Nick Saban as head coach in Tuscaloosa.

Coach DeBoer and the Crimson Tide will take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Aug. 31 to kick off the 2024 college football season inside Bryant-Denny Stadium.

At Roll Tide Wire, we will count down the days until Alabama football takes the field.

No. 64 hasn’t been a very popular number as of late in Tuscaloosa. With that being said, we will go back more than a decade to look at a former Alabama player who wore No. 64, Kerry Murphy.

Murphy arrived in Tuscaloosa in 2009 where he played on the defensive line for a couple of seasons before injuries put a halt on his football career.
