Texas and BYU reach a $233 agreement that fully commits to BYU’s departure from Texas.
BYU part Way’s with Texas $233 deal full commitment to BYU leaving Texas….
The Texas Longhorns are heading into the 2024 college football season with national championship aspirations.
While they will be led at quarterback by Quinn Ewers, they also have Arch Manning as their backup.
Manning is someone many expect to become a superstar next season since he’s not expected to get much time on the field this year barring disaster.
Off the field, he has already put up the numbers a high-profile starting player would, since he is the No. 3 overall NIL athlete in the nation and is ranked No. 2 among college football players specifically. He has been given a shocking NIL valuation of $3.1 million by On3.
Hook ’em Headlines has revealed a new update about Manning. He has been turning heads so far early on in practice.
“Arch was also impressive in practice today. He was getting the ball out at the right time to receivers running routes to multiple levels of the field in one-on-one drills. One of the highlights of the day was a deep ball from Arch where he connected with Bolden on a nice over-the-shoulder throw and catch that beat safety Michael Taaffe down just in front of the goal line.”
Needless to say, he has been looking ready to play. Texas is in an amazing situation at the quarterback position.
After the 2024 season, they’ll continue having an elite quarterback under center with Ewers headed off to the NFL draft and the Manning era officially underway.
Many teams don’t have the luxury of going from one Heisman hopeful to another.
Behind Manning, the Longhorns have 2026 five-star quarterback Dia Bell scheduled to come in. They could very well end up having three straight elite quarterbacks.
Manning has already displayed a very advanced level of maturity. Despite it being unlikely that he has legitimate playing time in his first two college seasons, he opted not to transfer. He stayed loyal to the Longhorns, knowing they offer him the best chance of long-term success.
Many young players in this day and age would have transferred, looking for immediate playing time.
All of that being said, the future is looking very bright for Manning at Texas. He has a good head on his shoulders and is impressing with his performance on the field.
Fans will have to wait one more year, but he’ll be ready to step in and make an immediate impact next season for the Longhorns.

The Texas Longhorns are widely expected to be a top-tier National Championship contender during the 2024 college football season.
A lot of that projected success has to do with the presence of star quarterback Quinn Ewers. He is viewed as an elite Heisman Trophy candidate and a player who could end up being the top overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Ewers put together a solid 2023 season for Texas. He wasn’t necessarily elite, but he was well above average.
During the 2023 campaign, Ewers completed 69.0 percent of his pass attempts for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions. He also picked up five touchdowns on the ground.
Not only is Ewers viewed as a Heisman Trophy candidate heading into the 2024 season, he is also one of the top players in college football off the field.
Currently, On3 has Ewers ranked as the No. 6 overall NIL athlete in the nation and is the No. 5 ranked college football player in the marketplace. He has been given an impressive $1.7 million NIL valuation.
Looking ahead at the future, Ewers has a few different goals at the top of his list.
First and foremost, winning a National Championship for the Longhorns would solidify his school legacy. A Heisman Trophy would be a great individual accomplishment. Being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft would set him up for life.
NFL Draft Buzz took a look at Ewers and offering a dominant rating for him. They gave him an overall rating of 90.3 out of 100.
As for his top competition to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2025, Shedeur Sanders is a name to watch. Carson Beck is another quarterback that could compete for the top spot in the draft.
Needless to say, a lot is at stake for Ewers in the 2024 season. Competing for a National Championship and trying to be the top pick in the NFL Draft is a lot of pressure for one player to face. He is also feeling some heat from backup quarterback Arch Manning.
Despite all of the pressure, Ewers is in a great place mentally and is ready to face all of it.
Expect to see the Texas quarterback rise to the occasion and live up to the hype. He’ll lead Texas to a successful season and will put himself in a great place ahead of the draft.

Quinn Ewers is ready to lead the Texas Longhorns into a 2024 college football season that comes with extremely high expectations.
Not only are the Longhorns expected to compete for a spot in the College Football Playoff, they’re expected to win a championship. There are a few teams around the nation with “championship or bust” expectations and Texas happens to be one of them.
That is a lot of pressure to put on a quarterback. Add in the fact that Ewers is also looking to prove himself ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft and the season comes with a lot at stake.
Ewers has been showing off strong ability on the field that has forced his name into the discussion to potentially be the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft class. He has also shown off the ability to be a star in the NIL marketplace.
Currently, On3 has ranked Ewers as the No. 6 overall NIL athlete in the nation. When it comes to college football players specifically, he’s ranked No. 5. He has been given an impressive NIL valuation of $1.7 million.
While his success to this point in his career has been great, he’s at the top of the list for players with the most to gain from having a big-time season in 2024.
ESPN NFL Draft analyst Jordan Reid made it clear that Ewers is the obvious choice for that title.
“The most to gain? I think it is Quinn Ewers without question. Honestly, just because there’s a lot of question marks about him and scouts that I talk to guess he probably would’ve gone in the second or the third round if we would have came out last year.”
Reid continued forward, revealing some of his concerns about the Texas star quarterback.
“I thought he was inconsistent for most of the season last year, but there’s some spots. They really give you a lot of hope for Quinn. … The deep ball accuracy does need to improve. I definitely think he leaves it hanging a little bit too high at times, but what I love about Quinn and what is very similar to Carson Beck this year is that they lost a ton of production on offense. … So he’s going to have to shoulder the load while he’s getting older.”
