Top 150 combo guard Josiah Sanders is down to five schools
Denver (Colo.) Colorado Prep Top 150 combo guard Josiah Sanders is down to five schools. The 6-4, 185-pound rising senior is down to Colorado, Northwestern, San Diego State, Stanford, and Tennessee. Ranked as the No. 139 overall prospect in the nation, Sanders is ready to take his official visits and commit before the early November signing period.
“I already have a good relationship with all the coaches,” Sanders said. “I know the surface level of all the schools but for me it will come down to seeing the coaches relationships with their players and seeing everything in person. They’re all solid options but I’ll be seeing what the campus looks like and how I can envision myself playing there for my college career. I’m sure they’ll all do a good job on my visit so it’s just for me and my family seeing it in person. It will make a big difference.”
Sanders has locked in official visits to two schools and has tentative dates for the remainder. He will head to Colorado on August 29th, and Northwestern on September 2nd.

Elite 24 Friday: Five-star Nate Ament makes his presence felt, Acaden Lewis, Eli Ellis also shine in scrimmage
Five-star forward Nate Ament missed the first day of Elite 24 activities, but he made his presence felt during Friday night’s scrimmage.

BROOKLYN — Under Armour’s Elite 24 rolled into day two on Friday and the main event of the day was an early evening scrimmage at the Brooklyn Nets training facility. With several NBA scouts, family members and media on hand to watch, the Fire and Ice teams put on an entertaining four-quarter scrimmage. After missing the first day of activities, five-star forward Nate Ament made his presence felt early and was among many that stood out during the hour or so long session.
247Sports was on hand and we’ve got some quick hitting team by team notes.
TEAM FIRE
Nate Ament – Currently ranked No. 7 nationally in the class of 2025, Ament took a redeye from the West Coast to make his way to Brooklyn and immediately made his presence felt. Having grown to every bit of 6-foot-9, he showed off his ability to shoot from deep, handle the ball and fluid movement early in the scrimmage. He faded a little as the scrimmage went on, but his wow moments were the type that most in the gym would have a hard time replicating. He’ll maybe play some faceup four in college but long term he’s looking like a jumbo wing who as good as he is, may just be scratching at the surface. He’s got an official visit locked into Kentucky for the end of the month and Virginia will get one in mid-September. He’s got a ton of other heavy hitters involved and he’ll be locking in more visits but don’t be surprised if he takes his time with things.
Acaden Lewis – Fresh off of recent unofficial visits to Duke and Syracuse, Lewis backed up his No. 31 ranking in the class of 2025. He can run the show, play off the ball or do a little of each. What really stood out on Friday was just how polished he is. He always relocates after passing the ball, is always shot ready and plays the game with a high degree of skill. It’s been a very solid showing for him in Brooklyn and he looks to be built for a tremendous college career.
Malachi Moreno – The No. 25 player in the class of 2025, Moreno was active in all facets of the game. He sprinted the floor. He posted strong. He finished around the rim and he battled on the glass and was a deterrent at the rim on the defensive end. He’s a big kid who is stronger than you think looking at him, but he’s also got a lot of room to add strength on the college level. Teaming with Lewis and Ament he wasn’t able to secure a scrimmage win, but was part of a trio that did well for themselves.
TEAM ICE
Shon Abaev – The guy is a bucket, we’re really not sure what else to say. He’s continued cooking after a strong July and his combination of size, strength and overall shot making ability have been too much for most defenders to deal with. His case to move up in the rankings from his current slotting of No. 44 in 2025 is a strong one.
Eli Ellis – Throughout the early part of Friday’s scrimmage Ellis appeared to be feeling things out. After showing off his skill and shot making ability during Thursday’s practice session, he eventually found his groove and got hot to close things out. He’s a super competitive dude, hit the open shots he was given and made a really positive impact in a winning effort. Already committed to South Carolina the No. 55 ranked player in 2025 has had a solid two days.
Dylan Mingo – One of a select group of 2026 prospects in attendance, Mingo stood out because of his ability to absolutely harass opposing ball handlers. At 6-foot-4 or so he’s long and on top of that he is quick with tremendous instincts. The guy can really move his feet, has fast hands and once he’s got the ball in his hands it is awfully tough to keep him from getting to the rim. The No. 22 ranked player in the rising junior class, he’s got a lot of upside as his frame and jump shot develop.
Mazi Mosley – When he’s on, you can look at Mosley’s No. 48 national ranking and wonder why he isn’t higher. On the other hand, he’s got days where it’s the opposite. Friday was a good day as Mosley spent a lot of time handling the ball and making things happen as a scorer and passer. He’s an easy mover, has great quickness and at 6-foot-5 there’s a lot to like when he’s mixing scoring and playmaking like he did during the scrimmage.
Christopher Washington Jr. – Another player from the class of 2026, Washington also had his first taste of action on Friday and didn’t disappoint. Ranked No. 28 overall in his class, Washington still has a baby face and his 6-foot-7 frame looks to be made up of mostly arms and legs. During the scrimmage he had a few loud dunks, hit a nice looking three, made a big block and was generally playing to his strengths by being active and athletic. Once he starts to fill out, things could get really interesting with him.
