South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and his staff are working hard in the transfer portal. Ten players have pledged themselves to the Gamecocks in this portal class, and several other players also have an interest in joining them.

South Carolina has received transfer portal pledges from offensive linemen Nick Sharpe (Wake Forest), Rodney Newsom (Western Kentucky), and Boaz Stanley (Troy), defensive tackle Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy (Texas A&M), linebacker Shawn Murphy (Florida State), tight end Jordan Dingle (Kentucky), EDGE Jaylen Brown (Missouri), defensive back Myles Norwood (Ball State), running back Rahsul Faison (Utah State), and quarterback Air Noland (Ohio State).

But where do those ten names have the Gamecocks positioned in the national transfer portal rankings?

This means that the Gamecocks have been very efficient during this portal cycle. Beamer and company have brought in good players while not losing guys they expect to play major roles moving forward. Those retention efforts have included keeping the team’s best players in town despite potential higher paydays elsewhere.

A few more transfer portal targets remain on the Gamecocks’ board. Defensive tackles Terry Webb and Davonte Miles and defensive back Brandon Cisse are among those targets. All three players have visited Columbia this week.

If South Carolina can land another name or two, their spot in the transfer portal rankings will only improve.
