sad news; Avery Johnson sacked by Kansas State football coach Chris Klieman………

Kansas State football had high hopes last year for a return to the Big 12 championship game and a repeat of its 2022 title.

That the Wildcats fell short of that goal with a 6-3 conference record and 9-4 overall mark, while  disappointing, left Kansas State all the more determined to bounce back in 2024.

The Wildcats set the tone with a 28-19 Pop-Tarts Bowl victory over North Carolina in December, led by an MVP performance from true freshman quarterback Avery Johnson in his first career start.

K-State isn’t alone in setting the bar high for the upcoming season, which starts with a 6 p.m. kickoff against Tennessee-Martin on Saturday at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. With six starters back on offense and eight on defense, the Wildcats were ranked in both national preseason polls and picked second in the Big 12.

As we count down the final days until the opener, here are four bold predictions for the 2024 Wildcats.
