JUST IN: Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones agree to new terms with Detroit Lions on 4-years contract…see

As of March 28, 2025, there are no credible reports indicating that Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones has agreed to a four-year contract with the Detroit Lions. In fact, recent information confirms that Jones remains committed to the Chiefs.

On March 11, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs announced a long-term contract extension with Chris Jones, solidifying his position with the team. General Manager Brett Veach highlighted Jones’ significance, stating, “Chris is a future Pro Football Hall of Famer and, in our opinion, the best defensive tackle in the National Football League.”

This extension followed a series of negotiations. In September 2023, Jones ended a holdout by agreeing to a revised one-year deal with the Chiefs. Subsequently, in March 2024, he secured a five-year extension, including $95 million guaranteed, making him the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history at that time.

Given these developments and the lack of credible sources supporting the claim of Jones signing with the Detroit Lions, it appears that the reported move is unfounded. Chris Jones continues to be a pivotal player for the Kansas City Chiefs.
