The Collingwood Football Club Foundation, in partnership with The Salvation Army and with the backing of the City of Melbourne and the Victorian Government, has pledged $150,000 over three years to support rough sleepers and disadvantaged people in Melbourne. This initiative aims to address homelessness and food security issues in the community.

The donation will specifically benefit the Hamodava Café, which serves homeless and disadvantaged individuals in Melbourne. Major Brendan Nottle from The Salvation Army expressed gratitude for the commitment, highlighting the importance of treating people with dignity.

It’s worth noting that Collingwood’s rising star Bobby Hill has also made a significant contribution to the community, investing $6.9 million to transform houses into shelters for homeless youth through his “Hope House Project”. This project aims to provide visible dignity and hope to homeless youth.

Additionally, Collingwood captain Darcy Moore has donated his entire $50 million bonus and sponsorship deal to charities focused on homelessness, food security, and veteran support across Australia ¹ ² ³.
