JUST 10 MINUTES AGO: Legend of South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball, A’ja Wilson, has finally broken her silence with a powerful statement defending the Gamecocks after their 61–76 loss to Texas Longhorns women’s basketball in the championship game of the SEC Women’s Basketball Tournament:
“The way people are piling criticism on South Carolina right now is everything that’s wrong with basketball today. It’s lazy, it’s cruel, and it ignores reality.
This team is carrying the weight of a program that lives and dies with expectations — and they do it with toughness, accountability, and zero excuses.
I’ve worn this uniform. I know exactly what it means to lead at South Carolina. This group is doing it the right way — every single possession.”
A’ja Wilson continued to emphasize:
