Manuel Neuer’s future is becoming one of the biggest talking points around Bayern Munich as the legendary goalkeeper approaches what could be the final season of his playing career.

Neuer extended his Bayern contract until 30 June 2027, meaning he remains part of the club for the current campaign.

However, in July, the 40-year-old admitted that it “certainly looks very much” like the 2026/27 season could be his last as a professional. 

That possibility has understandably left Bayern supporters emotional. Neuer has been at the club since 2011 and has collected 13 Bundesliga titles and two Champions League trophies among his many honours. 

Bayern are already developing the next generation, with Jonas Urbig part of the goalkeeping group alongside Neuer and Sven Ulreich.
