Jürgen Klopp Announces Departure afterf facing Early Pressure as Germany Struggle After World Cup Exit…

BERLIN — Jürgen Klopp’s return to international football has begun with Germany facing a difficult rebuilding process following their disappointing 2026 World Cup campaign.

Klopp took charge of the German national team in July after Julian Nagelsmann’s departure, with the task of restoring confidence and rebuilding a side that had suffered another early World Cup elimination. Germany were knocked out by Paraguay on penalties after a 1–1 draw in the round of 32.

The former Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund manager has since overseen four Nations League matches, but results have been mixed. Germany recorded a 2–0 victory over Serbia but also suffered a defeat against Greece and drew with the Netherlands and Greece. Following the latest 0–0 draw in Thessaloniki, Germany sit third in their Nations League group with five points.

Despite the results, Klopp has pointed to signs of progress. He has used 44 players during his opening international fixtures, including 16 newcomers, as he searches for the right combination ahead of Germany’s next major challenge.

Germany’s immediate future remains uncertain, with crucial Nations League matches against Serbia and the Netherlands coming in November. The team will need improved results to keep their hopes of reaching the next stage alive.

For now, there is no confirmed announcement that Klopp is leaving his position. Instead, the German coach remains focused on rebuilding the national team and preparing it for Euro 2028 and the 2030 World Cup. The DFB confirmed that Klopp’s contract runs through the 2030 World Cup.
