Joshua Kimmich to Borussia Dortmund? Viral Transfer Poster Sparks Huge Reaction

A striking graphic claiming that Joshua Kimmich has joined Borussia Dortmund is making waves among football fans, with the poster presenting the Germany international in Dortmund’s iconic black-and-yellow colours.

The image carries the headline “WELCOME TO BORUSSIA DORTMUND” alongside Kimmich’s name and the Borussia Dortmund crest, suggesting a sensational move from Bayern Munich to their biggest domestic rivals.

However, there is currently no official confirmation that Kimmich has transferred to Borussia Dortmund. In fact, the latest available Bundesliga information lists the 31-year-old midfielder as a Bayern Munich player for the 2026/27 season, where he has continued to feature for Vincent Kompany’s side.

A transfer that would shake German football

A move of Kimmich to Dortmund would be one of the most dramatic transfers in recent Bundesliga history. The midfielder has spent much of his career at Bayern and has established himself as one of Germany’s leading midfielders.

The rivalry between Bayern and Dortmund would make such a transfer even more significant. Kimmich has already played a central role in recent meetings between the two clubs. In February 2026, he scored the winning goal as Bayern defeated Dortmund 3–2 at Signal Iduna Park.

Kimmich also started for Bayern when the two sides met again in the 2026 Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, which Bayern won 2–1 in Dortmund.

Fact or fan-made concept?

For now, the graphic should be treated as a concept or unverified transfer claim rather than an official announcement. No reliable confirmation has been found showing that Borussia Dortmund have completed a deal for Kimmich.

If such a transfer were ever completed, however, it would instantly become one of the biggest stories in German football — a Bayern leader crossing directly to Dortmund would represent a major statement of intent from the Black and Yellows.
