BREAKING: 5 Star WR Shocks Colorado with Decommitment, Flips Commitment Arizona wildcat football tonight..
The UA’s 18th consecutive loss may be its most embarrassing yet, even more than falling at home to NAU last month, as the Wildcats made a similarly struggling Colorado team look like a somewhat competent squad in a 34-0 loss on Saturday afternoon at Folsom Field in Boulder.
It was the first time in 109 games that the UA (0-6, 0-3 Pac-12) failed to score, going back to a 49-0 loss at Oregon in September 2012. The Wildcats had only two legitimate scoring chance but turned it over on downs in the red zone both times, including once when they had four chances from the 1-yard line and couldn’t convert.
Arizona allowed big plays on defense, special teams and even on offense while doing almost none of those things itself. Colorado (2-4, 1-2) scored touchdowns on a 36-yard blocked punt return, a 50-yard interception return and a 62-yard pass, all in the third quarter to turn a still-in-doubt 6-0 game at halftime into another backslide for the Wildcats.
Brooks ran for 128 yards and three touchdowns, Jacob Rodriguez forced a late fumble and Texas Tech rallied after blowing a 15-point lead to beat Arizona 28-22 on Saturday night.
Texas Tech (5-1, 3-0 Big 12) got consistent pressure on Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita, forcing him to get rid of the ball quickly or throw it away. The Red Raiders also intercepted two of his passes and forced a turnover on downs deep in their own end while building an 18-3 halftime lead.
The Wildcats’ defense kept them within reach, forcing two Brooks’ fumbles to take a 19-18 lead early in the fourth quarter.
