.Florida State started their 11-on-11 work in the red zone, which they usually participate in on Wednesday. Norvell wanted a head start on situational work, even though his offense only reached the red area once last weekend. Patrick Payton and the defensive line did a great job shutting down the run game and forcing the ball to come out quickly against the pass.
The strong defensive display continued in the middle of practice, except for a nice throw up the sideline from Luke Kromenhoek to fellow freshman BJ Gibson. Unfortunately, Kromenhoek threw an INT to Ja’Bril Rawls a few plays later, continuing his turnover problems.
A few nice throws from Kromenhoek during one-on-ones generated some offense later in the day, but that did not carry over to the final 11-on-11 period, where the best offensive highlight came from a scout team player who juked Quindarrius Jones.
After practice, Coach Norvell said his team’s only attention was on the Irish this weekend.
“Our focus is on today. For our guys, the coaches, everyone involved in the program, that every time we step on the field, we continue to pour everything we have into it.”
