The 2025 recruiting cycle enters the home stretch with less than two months remaining until the early signing period. That means flip season has officially arrived.
Many of the top high school football players around the country have already announced their respective commitments, but nothing is official until they put pen to paper. With that in mind, there have already been some notable decommitments in recent weeks as players are reopening their recruitments before making a final decision.
There will be plenty more decommitments in the coming weeks leading up to the early signing period, so we will be tracking those here.
Recruiting background: A 5-foot-10 ½, 175-pound safety out of Warner Robins (Ga.) High School, Rasean Dinkins flipped his commitment from Georgia Tech to Georgia nearly two months after landing a scholarship offer from Kirby Smart’s program. He initially committed to the Yellow Jackets on June 2 during an official visit to the campus. Dinkins was Georgia’s Region 2-5A Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2023 after recording 62 tackles and three interceptions.
Abbreviated scouting report: “Instinctive split safety with a well-rounded game that makes play in a variety of different ways. … Can chew up turf and get from hash to hash with ease while handling deep-third coverage responsibilities. Tracks the football like a seasoned vet with sharp eyes and has a knack for generating takeaways as he entered senior campaign with 12 interceptions to his credit.” — 247Sports
