Mark Pope, Vince Marrow, and Oscar Tshiebwe watch Craft family purchase Country Ham for $10.5 million at State Fair
It is State Fair time in Kentucky, and the fair goes from all around the Bluegrass to Louisville and the KY Expo Center. One of the most popular events at the fair is the Kentucky Farm Bureau Country Ham Breakfast and Charity Auction, which took place on Thursday morning.
The winners of this year’s auction were Kentucky donors Joe and Kelly Craft. The Country Ham sold for $10.5 million this year, blasting past last year’s value of $10 million. With the money headed to the charity of their choice, the auction took place in front of some of the biggest sports figures in the state over the last few seasons.
In attendance for the breakfast and auction was new Kentucky Basketball head coach Mark Pope (and his wife Lee Anne), Kentucky Football assistant coach Vince Marrow, and former Kentucky superstar Oscar Tshiebwe.
Our own Drew Brown was also present to take in the festivities.
Even new Louisville Cardinals head coach Pat Kelsey was present.
The breakfast and auction are always for a good cause, and it is always cool to see some of the BBN’s biggest figures and icons in attendance.
