Detroit Tigers games in 2025? What we know about Bally Sports

Your regional sports network should be like referees; the less you know about them, the better job they’re probably doing.

Unfortunately for Detroit sports fans (and fans of many other teams around the country), that has been the exact opposite case when it comes to Bally Sports.

Over the last few years, Bally Sports, which is a subsidiary of Diamond Sports Group, has become a regular part of sports conversations. Diamond has been in an ongoing bankruptcy battle for several years now and that’s led to multiple teams, particularly in MLB, to take back their media rights back.

In addition, the Tigers went off the air for multiple months for thousands of people in Michigan this year as Bally Sports Detroit was unavailable for Xfinity customers due to ongoing negotiations over which package Bally should be included in. It was eventually worked out in August, but baseball, basketball and hockey fans are not unfamiliar with interruptions related to Bally Sports and their favorite teams.
