Indiana WBB Defeats Oakland as Sydney Parrish Returns For Hoosiers
Indiana women’s basketball guard Sydney Parrish returns to lineup from injury
Indiana Hoosiers star senior guard, Sydney Parrish missed the last five games with a knee injury suffered during the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in November but returned to action this past weekend to lead the Hoosiers to victory over Oakland 90-55.
Head coach Teri Moren and her Indiana Hoosiers women’s basketball team moved on to beat Oakland in a blowout win at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
It was the Hoosiers’ final non conference game before heading into Big Ten conference play and their last hone game of the 2024 calendar year, with their next home game not until January 4th when they take on the No. 1 ranked UCLA Bruins.
Parrish had 11 points, was 4 of 8 from the field, and made 3 of 5 from 3-point range to go along with 7 rebounds in 19 total minutes of action.
“For her to be out there today and play the minutes she did and play aggressive like we’ve seen Syd play was a really good sign for us,” Moren said.
Parrish will now get six days to rest before her team’s next game on Dec. 28 against the Wisconsin Badgers at Assembly Hall.
It seems as if Indiana has found their rhythm together this past month, as it has won five straight games and stands at 9-3 on the season. The winning streak will be put to the test with Wisconsin, UCLA, Northwestern and Iowa as their next four games in the next 30 days.
