A Farmington native is making a major move to the SEC.

Florida Gators men’s basketball has added a new piece to its backcourt, landing Murray State guard Layne Taylor out of the transfer portal. The Arkansas native now heads to Gainesville looking to take the next step in his collegiate career.

Taylor brings solid production with him after averaging 8 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds per game this past season. Known for his steady playmaking and ability to contribute on both ends, he gives the Gators added depth and experience at the guard position.

With this addition, Florida continues to reshape its roster, aiming to stay competitive in the always-tough SEC. Taylor’s arrival could prove to be a key under-the-radar pickup as the Gators build toward the upcoming season.
