BREAKING Gabe Dynes commits to the Florida Gators! 🐊🔵🟠

The 7-foot-5 center and Kentucky native from Independence, KY — a graduate of Simon Kenton High School — is heading to Gainesville, making a huge splash in the transfer portal.

Dynes spent two dominant seasons at Youngstown State before transferring to USC, where he totaled 196 career blocks across three years. At Youngstown State, he led the nation with 104 blocks while averaging 6.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

Last season at USC, he posted an elite 78.6 effective field goal percentage, ranking in the 100th percentile among Division I centers, while his 8.9 block percentage placed him in the 95th percentile.

After visits this week, Dynes chose head coach Todd Golden and the Gators over Kentucky Wildcats and Mark Pope, turning down a return to his home-state program in one of the most closely watched frontcourt decisions of the spring portal window.

Florida lands a massive rim protector with one year of eligibility remaining — a major boost to their frontcourt heading into next season. 🏀
