BREAKING:.Lane Kiffin with ole miss set to part ways with million mega deal…
— Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin has built a reputation as a master of the transfer portal, but it should not overshadow his ability to put together a strong high school recruiting class.
The Rebels’ 2025 signing class is No. 14 in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. It ranks No. 9 in the SEC behind Texas (1), Alabama (2), Georgia (3), Auburn (6), LSU (8), Texas A&M (9), Tennessee (10) and Florida (11).
Ole Miss was No. 17 last season.
Kiffin chalks the momentum up to winning 38 games since 2021. Ole Miss is 9-3 this season and awaits its bowl fate.
“I think this is our best class of high school players since we’ve been here … that’s the product of a lot of winning seasons, third-winningest program in SEC behind Georgia and Alabama,” Kiffin said. “It’s critical for players to see that.”
Five-star in-state receiver Caleb Cunningham headlines the class. He’s a 6-foot-1,190-pound receiver from Choctaw County. Only seven recruits in Ole Miss history have been rated higher than Cunningham. The Clarion Ledger named him part of the Dandy Dozen in 2024.
Cunningham flipped from Alabama to Ole Miss in November. At his signing ceremony Wednesday, Cunningham called Kiffin the best coach in the country.
Ole Miss did not add any junior college players.
“I think the portal, as we said when it first started, would affect juco players because coaches know they can go get college players they’ve already seen playing D1 or Power 5,” Kiffin said.
