Breaking news;Big 12 part ways,Scott Satterfield announce his departure date fix..

Satterfield, 81, lived in North Carolina and had been battling a long illness.

A U of L team spokesman confirmed the news on Sunday afternoon and then the U of L football social media accounts released the following: “Thoughts and prayers with Coach Satt and his entire family following the passing of his father.”

Scott Satterfield learned of his father’s passing less than a half-hour or so before kick-off of Saturday night’s game against Kentucky. He was informed of the news when the team came off the field for pregame warm-ups. U of L lost the game 52-21.

Satterfield did not mention his father’s passing after the game on Saturday. Satterfield had been able to visit with his father last week prior to the U of L-Duke game for an hour or so after the team traveled to Durham, N.C.

The funeral in North Carolina is expected to be Monday. But there are still not a lot of details available.
