Kalani Sitake is the head coach of the BYU Cougars football team. Born on October 10, 1975, in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga, Sitake has been leading the Cougars since 2016 ¹. He’s a BYU alum himself, having played as a fullback for the Cougars from 1994 to 2000 ¹.
Sitake has had a successful coaching career, with a overall record of 71-43 ¹. Before becoming the head coach at BYU, he served as the defensive coordinator at Utah and Oregon State ¹. Sitake is known for his high-energy approach to the game and his ability to motivate his players.
Under Sitake’s leadership, the Cougars have had some notable victories, including wins over Power Five teams like Baylor, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Washington State ². He’s also led the team to five straight bowl appearances ².
