Chicago Bears Re-Sign Wide Receiver Dante Pettis to Bolster Offense

The Chicago Bears have officially re-signed wide receiver Dante Pettis, adding depth and experience to their receiving corps ahead of the upcoming season. The move signals the team’s commitment to strengthening its offense as they continue to build around quarterback Justin Fields.

Pettis, 28, joined the Bears in 2022 after previous stints with the San Francisco 49ers and the New York Giants. Known for his versatility, Pettis contributed both as a receiver and a special teams player during his time in Chicago. Last season, he recorded **19 receptions for 245 yards and three touchdowns**, while also serving as a reliable punt returner.

The decision to bring Pettis back aligns with the Bears’ strategy to maintain continuity on offense while providing Fields with a mix of seasoned playmakers and younger talent. Pettis’ familiarity with the team’s system and his ability to step up in critical moments made him an attractive re-signing option for Chicago.

With Pettis returning, the Bears’ wide receiver room now includes key players such as DJ Moore, Darnell Mooney, and Chase Claypool, giving the team a diverse set of targets heading into the 2025 season. Head coach Matt Eberflus expressed optimism about the re-signing, stating, “Dante has proven his value to this team with his versatility and professionalism. We’re excited to have him back.”

The Bears’ front office remains focused on building a competitive roster as they aim to improve upon last season’s performance. Pettis’ return adds depth and stability to a unit looking to make a significant impact in the NFC North.
