Dinamo Zagreb Eye Young Croatian Talent Pavle Smiljanić
Dinamo Zagreb could be keeping a close eye on young Croatian midfielder Pavle Smiljanić, who has continued to develop with NK Lokomotiva Zagreb.
The 18-year-old midfielder, born in Zagreb, is a Croatia U-19 international and has already made senior appearances in the SuperSport HNL. According to Croatian Football Federation records, Smiljanić has featured five times for Lokomotiva during the 2026/27 campaign.
Smiljanić previously impressed at youth level, making 21 appearances for Lokomotiva’s U-19 side during the 2025/26 season and scoring six goals. He also made six senior league appearances last season.
The midfielder’s development has naturally attracted attention in Croatian football, particularly given Dinamo Zagreb’s long-standing focus on developing young domestic talent. Smiljanić also featured against Dinamo last season, playing 83 minutes in a 0-0 HNL draw.
At this stage, there is no confirmed announcement that Smiljanić has joined Dinamo Zagreb. Any transfer should therefore be treated as a developing story rather than a completed deal.
With his age, Croatian U-19 experience and growing senior exposure, Smiljanić remains a player to watch as the season progresses.
