Chris Henry was an American professional football player who played as a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Born on May 17, 1983, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Henry played college football at West Virginia University, where he had a standout career. His performance at West Virginia led him to be selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft.

During his time with the Bengals (2005-2009), Henry was known for his athleticism, speed, and playmaking ability. He had several productive seasons, including a standout 2006 season where he caught 9 touchdown passes. However, Henry’s career was often overshadowed by personal issues. He faced multiple legal troubles and suspensions for off-the-field conduct, which hindered his potential in the NFL.

Tragically, on December 17, 2009, at the age of 26, Henry passed away after falling from the back of a moving truck. The incident occurred in Charlotte, North Carolina, where he had been involved in a domestic dispute. He sustained severe head injuries from the fall and was taken off life support later that day.
