transfer portal officially opened one week ago, and the Auburn football coaching staff have been hard at work recruiting to fill spots of need for the Tigers. Of course, with bowl games still to be played, it’s early in the transfer portal process, and more players will be expected to enter before the window closes.
However, Auburn football has already significantly changed the look of the team from 2024 heading into 2025. Four players have committed from the portal so far, and 13 Auburn players have entered the portal.
The first portal addition was arguably the most important for the Tigers. Former Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold committed over the weekend, providing the Tigers with one of at least two new quarterbacks heading into the 2025 season.
Arnold was a 5-star quarterback out of high school and spent two seasons with the Sooners. He started nine games this season and racked up 1,421 passing yards with 12 touchdowns and only three interceptions.
Following Arnold, the Tigers picked up former UConn running back Durell Robinson. He began his career at Charlotte, red-shirted, and then transferred to UConn for 2024, his breakout season. He ran for 731 yards and eight touchdowns. Notably, Robinson attended high school at St. Frances in Maryland, the same school that produced three major 2025 Auburn football signees and a 2026 commit.
With Oscar Chapman out of eligibility, the Tigers brought in former Oklahoma State punter Hudson Kaak, an Aussie. He has two years of eligibility.
Finally, Auburn football picked up a major addition on Sunday with the commitment of former Virginia Tech left tackle Xavier Chaplin. Offensive line is a huge position of need for the Tigers, and Chaplin brings an impressive resume with him to the Plains. According to Auburn Undercover, he allowed only two sacks, zero quarterback hits, and 10 quarterback hurries in the 2024 season.
