Just in;No 1 America player Cocoa Tigers’ CJ Hester Commits to Florida Gators Ahead of 2025 Season over BYU and Ohio state…
Hester, a senior defensive back, will play a pivotal role on the defensive side for Cocoa this upcoming season as the Tigers go for their fourth straight state title.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Hester boasts an impressive list of offers, including Georgia, Iowa, Auburn, LSU, and more.
Ultimately, Hester chose the Florida Gators, who have secured 16 firm commitments for the Class of 2026.
Last year, Hester accumulated 72 tackles, 10 pass breakups, three interceptions, and one forced fumble.
Recruiting pundits really like Hester and what he will bring to the Florida defensive unit.
“He’s a battle-tested defensive back with natural coverage skills and some alignment flexibility that has produced since he was a freshman for a Cocoa program that has won three-straight state titles,” said Andrew Ivins from 247 Sports.
“Verified at just under 6-foot-1 early on in the recruiting process and should eventually carry 195 pounds or more. He has plenty of experience working in off-man situations from an outside posting and does a favorable job of putting himself in a position to make plays in the deeper third with his route recognition. He is animated as a tackler as he charges towards opponents and tries to unload with force. Not afraid to lower his shoulder and rock a compromised pass catcher, either. Owns promising track and field metrics, but game tape and in-person evaluations suggest that he’s quicker than he is fast.”
He projects as a starting-caliber safety at the Power Four level who could also earn snaps on the inside as a nickel defender. Should be a regular on special teams units with his physicality and sound football IQ.”
