Kentucky added 11th-best recruit in the class of 2025…

Tounde Yessoufou surprisingly cuts Kentucky Basketball from list

Kentucky was viewed as one of, if not the favorite for the 11th-best recruit in the class of 2025.

The Kentucky Wildcats will not be adding Tounde Yessoufou to their class of 2025.

On Monday, Yessoufou made a surprising decision to cut Kentucky from his list. The Kansas Jayhawks and UConn Huskies were also cut from consideration.

Per Joe Tipton, Yessoufou is now down to the Baylor Bears, Arizona State Sun Devils, and USC Trojans. The 5-star forward was set to visit Kentucky in the coming weeks, but that won’t happen.

This is a tough pill to swallow for Kentucky, who was viewed as one of the top contenders for the consensus top-20 recruit who’s ranked as high as 11th overall in the 2025 class via On3.

Alas, Kentucky still has plenty of quality options left on the board. Guys like Nate Ament, Chris Cenac, Caleb Wilson, Brayden Burries, Mikel Brown Jr., Acaden Lewis, and Braylon Mullins remain uncommitted, and they all have serious interest in Mark Pope’s program.
