South Carolina forward Alicia Tournebize is one of the players attracting attention as Dawn Staley’s Gamecocks prepare for their unusual outdoor exhibition against College of Charleston.
Tournebize suffered a finger injury while training with France ahead of the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in August. She was later seen wearing a protective brace on her right hand during South Carolina’s first official practice of the 2026–27 season.
The sophomore forward was dressed for practice but did not participate in the portion of the session available to media, instead working on the side with associate head coach Lisa Boyer. Her availability became one of the early roster storylines surrounding the Gamecocks.
South Carolina has a 15-player roster this season, with Tournebize among the returning players. The team is also preparing for its first-ever outdoor exhibition game, adding another unusual element to the start of the campaign.
