Over two days in December, South Carolina made a huge recruiting splash. The Gamecocks picked up a traditional commitment from high school star Jerzy Robinson. But the day before Robinson committed, South Carolina got a very non-traditional commitment from Alicia Tournebize, a French player who would be joining the Gamecocks mid-season.
While Tournebize is unique for the Gamecocks, her story is becoming increasingly common in college basketball. In fact, she wasn’t even the only international player who joined her new college team in January.
