The Baltimore Orioles have signed outfielder Tyler O’Neill to a three-year, $49.5 million deal, pending a physical. The contract includes an opt-out clause after the 2025 season. This move bolsters the Orioles’ outfield with a power hitter known for his explosive bat, as O’Neill hit 31 home runs in just 113 games during his 2024 season with the Boston Red Sox.

The signing coincides with changes to Camden Yards’ dimensions, which are expected to be more favorable to right-handed hitters like O’Neill. Baltimore General Manager Mike Elias stated that these changes aim to create a more neutral playing environment, potentially boosting O’Neill’s offensive impact. However, durability remains a concern for the 29-year-old, given his injury history.

This signing aligns with the Orioles’ strategy to enhance their lineup with impactful bats as they look to build on their recent success. Tyler O’Neill joins Gary Sánchez as one of the team’s prominent free-agent acquisitions this offseason.
